Biography

Dr. Gretchen Ferguson is the associate director, programs & partnerships for Simon Fraser University’s Office of Community Engagement. She has spent over 20 years in community-engaged research and learning in Latin America and Canada.

She has worked at SFU since 2007 in various roles, including director of the sustainable development program and associate director of international programs in the Centre for Sustainable Development. She teaches courses regularly in sustainable community development and human geography.

Gretchen holds a PhD in geography and a masters in community and regional planning. She is deeply committed to fostering a more equitable economic system that fosters community, individual and environmental well-being.
